Privacy Policy
Your Volleyball Videos ("the Service") turns full volleyball match recordings into rally-only clips. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why, on what legal basis, who processes it, and the rights you have.
Who we are
The Service is operated by Your Volleyball Videos, a company registered in Armenia ("we", "us"). We are the data controller for the personal data described here. For any privacy question, or to exercise your rights, contact us at support@yourvolleyballvideos.com.
What we collect
- Account data — your email address and, if you sign in with Google, your name and email from your Google profile. We never see your Google password.
- Your videos — the recordings you upload, and the processed clips, thumbnails, and analysis data our system derives from them. The analysis includes rally timestamps and per-player data (hit counts, on-court positions, and cropped thumbnail images of players), which may relate to other people who appear in your footage — see People who appear in your videos.
- Usage data — standard technical logs (IP address, browser or device type, timestamps) needed to run and secure the Service.
- App telemetry — the Android app records which features are used and any errors that occur (for example, that an upload failed and why), together with your account id and your device's model and Android version. It never includes your videos or their content.
- Crash and performance reports — the Android app sends automatic crash reports and performance measurements (app start time, session information, device model and OS version) to our monitoring provider. These include an approximate, city-level location derived from your IP address; they never include precise location, and the app does not request location permissions.
Why we use it, and our legal basis
For users in the EU/EEA and UK, we rely on the following legal bases under the GDPR (Article 6):

Processing runs automatically on cloud infrastructure. We do not routinely watch your videos; authorized personnel may access a specific video only where necessary to resolve a support request you raise, to investigate a suspected terms violation or abuse report, or to diagnose a processing failure.
Improving and developing the Service
We may use uploaded footage, the clips and analysis data derived from it, and usage data to operate, secure, improve, and develop the Service and our technology — including developing, training, evaluating, and improving our models and algorithms, building new features, and conducting research and analytics. This is separate from processing your videos into clips, which happens regardless. Where EU/EEA or UK data protection law applies, we rely on our legitimate interests for this and you may object at any time (see Your rights).
We may also create aggregated or de-identified data (data that does not identify you or any individual) from your content and usage, and we may use and retain that data for any business purpose, including analytics, benchmarking, and developing the Service.
People who appear in your videos
A volleyball recording usually contains people other than you — teammates, opponents, coaches, referees, and spectators — and our analysis produces data about players in the footage. When you upload, you confirm that you have the right to do so and the necessary permissions or other lawful basis to have that footage processed (see the Terms). If you appear in a video someone else uploaded and want it reviewed or removed, contact us at the address above and we will act on your request.
Children and minors
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. The Service is not directed to children under that age, and we do not knowingly create accounts for them. Youth matches may still appear in uploaded footage; the account holder is responsible for having the consents required to upload recordings that feature minors (for example from a parent, guardian, club, or league). If you believe a child's personal data has reached us without a proper basis, contact us and we will delete it.
Who processes your data
We use third-party providers acting on our behalf, under contracts that limit them to processing your data for us:
- Cloud infrastructure and storage providers that host the Service and process your videos (account data, your videos and derived files, transactional email, and diagnostic reports).
- AI providers that help process your videos. They are contractually prevented from logging or training on your content, and may be located outside the EEA.
The categories of data each provider receives are described above; the specific companies are available on request. If you upload through our Telegram bot instead of the app or website, Telegram also receives your video and related metadata and processes it under Telegram's own privacy policy, over which we have no control.
Where your data is processed
We are established in Armenia. Your account data, videos, and most processing are hosted in the EU. Part of the processing uses AI providers that may be located in the United States or elsewhere; any content sent to them for that purpose is removed afterward, and those providers are contractually prevented from logging or training on it.
We do not currently offer or target the Service to users in the European Economic Area or United Kingdom. If we begin offering it there, we will put appropriate cross-border transfer safeguards (such as Standard Contractual Clauses) in place and update this policy first.
Retention
Your videos and account data are kept while your account exists. We keep operational data — telemetry, crash reports, and technical logs — for as long as it is useful for running, securing, and debugging the Service. When you delete your account, your stored files (the originals, the derived clips and thumbnails, and the analysis data) and your account records are removed from active storage as part of that action.
Copies may persist for a limited period in routine encrypted backups before they are overwritten, and we may retain information where we need it to comply with a legal obligation, resolve disputes, or enforce our agreements. Aggregated and de-identified data, which no longer identifies you, may be retained indefinitely.
Sharing
We don't sell your data or share it with third parties for their own purposes. Your videos are visible to you, to people you share a link with (viewing a shared link requires signing in), and to no one else, except the processors listed above acting on our behalf.
Cookies and local storage
We use cookies, browser local storage, and (in the Android app) on-device app storage to keep you signed in and to cache your games list and thumbnails for faster loading. We may also use cookies and analytics to understand how the Service is used and to improve it. We do not use them to sell your data or to target you with advertising.
Your rights and account deletion
If you are in the EU/EEA or UK, you have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to our processing of your personal data, and to data portability, where those rights apply. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection supervisory authority.
You can delete your account and all your data at any time — from inside the Android app, or by emailing support@yourvolleyballvideos.com from the address on your account, and we'll handle the request within 30 days. Deleting your account removes the account, your uploaded videos, the derived clips and analysis data, and your identity with us. Deleting a single video removes it from your library.
Data breaches
If a personal data breach occurs that is likely to present a risk to your rights, we will notify the relevant supervisory authority, and you where required, without undue delay in line with applicable law.
Changes
If this policy changes materially, we'll update the effective date here and, where the change affects how your data is handled, notify you by email before it takes effect.
